ETK-2026-3763Zero's internal tracking ID, independent of the CVE number.
validatingZero is analyzing and reversing it now.description
LXD versions before the listed fixed release can mishandle a crafted container image containing a duplicate rootfs entry with a symlink. An attacker able to import such an image and use the stopped-container file API may read or modify files on the host, potentially enabling command execution.
Still under analysis: more detail becomes available as the pipeline runs.
mitigation
Update github.com/canonical/lxd to 0.0.0-20260630083100-c5184be310b1 or later. Until upgraded, restrict image import and stopped-container file API access to trusted administrators.
fixed in 0.0.0-20260630083100-c5184be310b1
outcome
Run in progress: no artifact yet.
