description

Affected Linux kernels can prematurely expire netfilter conntrack entries for established TCP flows after non-exact reset traffic is processed. An attacker able to inject such traffic into a tracked established connection may disrupt the flow; the issue depends on conntrack tracking the connection and the attacker reaching that traffic path.

mitigation

Upgrade to Linux 6.18.61 or a vendor kernel containing fix commits 0c6d33329960b2d884a399196c8403643d8a9de6 or bf80e6802273a900311b44e47c9b1a59c6d2473c. Until updated, limit untrusted parties' ability to inject traffic into established TCP flows.
