CVE-2026-99277
waiting for further signalsZero needs more public information before it can validate it.GHSA-p59r-fqh3-3h8x ↗EUVD-2026-119285 ↗
description
Linux kernels with the ksmbd SMB server are affected by a connection lifetime flaw involving session channels. An attacker able to exercise affected SMB session and channel activity may trigger access to a connection after it has been freed, creating a kernel memory-safety condition. Exploitation requires ksmbd to be enabled and reachable or otherwise usable by the attacker.
mitigation
Upgrade to Linux kernel 7.3 or a distribution kernel release that includes the listed ksmbd fix. Disable ksmbd where it is not required until the update can be deployed.
fixed in 4b333aed69cfc2c8687b86b6a4364a0dffc16dd8, add8d7fb04efe564193df73581889c62fc0016f1, 7.3
outcome
Contextual, not validated: no deterministic check could cover this one, and no technique passed our review.
source signals
