description

MemberPress for WordPress versions through 1.14.1 do not reliably validate a request involved in profile-field updates. An unauthenticated attacker may cause a signed-in user to change their email address after persuading that user to interact with malicious content, which can enable account takeover through password recovery.

mitigation

Update MemberPress when a release addressing this issue is available; no fixed version is recorded. Until then, limit authenticated access to trusted users and advise signed-in users not to follow untrusted links.

Upstream: a detection for this already ships elsewhere, so we didn't generate a new one. The credit goes to whoever did.
