description

Asterisk and Certified Asterisk releases before the listed fixes contain a heap use-after-free in PJSIP TCP/SDP handling. An authenticated attacker who can submit a SIP INVITE over a connection-oriented transport and terminate the connection before the response may trigger a crash; reported reproduction has been limited to Address Sanitizer builds.

mitigation

Upgrade Asterisk to 20.20.1, 21.12.3, 22.10.1, or 23.4.1, or upgrade Certified Asterisk to 20.7-cert11 or 22.8-cert3. Restrict SIP authentication and access to connection-oriented SIP transports until upgrades are complete.

fixed in 20.20.1, 21.12.3, 22.10.1, 23.4.1, 20.7-cert11, 22.8-cert3
