description

Affected Asterisk and Certified Asterisk releases contain a use-after-free in PJSIP handling for TCP/SDP traffic. An authenticated attacker able to initiate a SIP INVITE over a connection-oriented transport and terminate the connection at the relevant point may trigger the flaw; the reported reproduction produced a crash only in Address Sanitizer builds.

Still under analysis: more detail becomes available as the pipeline runs.

mitigation

Upgrade Asterisk to 20.20.1, 21.12.3, 22.10.1, or 23.4.1, or upgrade Certified Asterisk to 20.7-cert11 or 22.8-cert3. Restrict SIP authentication and access to connection-oriented SIP transports until upgrades are complete.

fixed in 20.20.1, 21.12.3, 22.10.1, 23.4.1, 20.7-cert11, 22.8-cert3
