description

pyasn1 through version 0.6.4 can consume excessive CPU while decoding heavily fragmented constructed string values or indefinite-length ANY values. An attacker can use attacker-controlled ASN.1 input to tie up decoding workers when an application accepts such input through affected decoding paths without effective resource limits.

mitigation

Upgrade pyasn1 to version 0.6.5 or later. Until upgrades are complete, enforce input-size, decoding-time, and CPU/resource limits for untrusted ASN.1 processing.

fixed in 0.6.5
