ETK-2026-975Zero's internal tracking ID, independent of the CVE number.
validatedZero produced an exploit or a check.description
Traefik 3.7's Kubernetes Ingress-NGINX provider can forward attacker-controlled client-certificate headers to an upstream over HTTP. An unauthenticated requester may be treated as a verified mTLS client when the affected Ingress passes certificate information upstream, disables HTTPS redirection, and its backend trusts those headers for authorization.
mitigation
Upgrade Traefik 3.7 deployments to v3.7.14 or later. Until upgraded, keep HTTPS redirection enabled for affected Ingresses and avoid authorizing requests from client-certificate headers received over HTTP.
fixed in v3.7.14
outcome
Contextual check: a technique exists and was validated, but no deterministic check could cover this one.
