description

Pgpool-II contains an out-of-bounds write in its watchdog message handling. An authenticated attacker may be able to crash the service or run code in the Pgpool-II process context.

mitigation

Upgrade Pgpool-II to version 4.4.18 or a later upstream release that includes this correction. Until upgraded, restrict Pgpool-II access to trusted authenticated users and networks.
