ETK-2026-3853Zero's internal tracking ID, independent of the CVE number.
waiting for further signalsZero needs more public information before it can validate it.description
The Rust zip crate version 9.0.4 can consume excessive memory and CPU while opening a crafted ZIP archive. An attacker can cause denial of service if an application passes untrusted archive data to ZipArchive::new or ZipArchive::with_config.
mitigation
Upgrade the Rust zip crate to version 9.1.0 or later. Until upgraded, avoid opening ZIP archives from untrusted sources in affected services.
fixed in 9.1.0
outcome
Contextual, not validated: no deterministic check could cover this one, and no technique passed our review.
