description

Versions of github.com/canonical/lxd before 0.0.0-20260630083100-c5184be310b1 may fail to apply low-level container restrictions when restoring instance snapshots. An attacker who can transfer and restore a crafted snapshot into a restricted project may bypass those controls and run commands on the host.

mitigation

Update github.com/canonical/lxd to 0.0.0-20260630083100-c5184be310b1 or later. Until upgraded, restrict untrusted users' ability to transfer, import, and restore snapshots across project boundaries.
