description

Affected AutoMapper releases can fail to enforce mapping depth limits when recursively nested destination objects are created through constructor parameters. An attacker able to supply deeply nested data for such a mapping may terminate the application process through stack exhaustion, even when a depth limit is configured.

mitigation

Upgrade AutoMapper to 16.3.0 or 15.1.4. Until then, reject or limit nested input before mapping; for compatible destination types, disable constructor mapping and use property mapping instead.

fixed in 16.3.0, 15.1.4
