ETK-2026-3618Zero's internal tracking ID, independent of the CVE number.
waiting for further signalsZero needs more public information before it can validate it.description
rust zip 9.0.5 can modify destination files before rejecting an archive whose headers are inconsistent. An attacker able to supply a crafted archive may cause files in the extraction destination to be created, truncated, or overwritten when an application uses ZipStreamReader with header-consistency enforcement enabled.
mitigation
Upgrade the rust zip package to version 9.1.0 or later. Until upgraded, do not extract untrusted archives into directories containing files that must be preserved.
fixed in 9.1.0
outcome
Contextual, not validated: no deterministic check could cover this one, and no technique passed our review.
