description

SurrealDB bucket storage on Windows is affected by a path traversal validation flaw in releases before 4.0.0. An attacker who can supply bucket object keys may read or modify files belonging to other buckets.

mitigation

Upgrade SurrealDB to version 4.0.0 or later. Until upgrading, restrict untrusted object-key input and reject keys containing backslashes before storage path handling.

fixed in 4.0.0

auth requiredWhether an attacker needs an account first, based on the CVSS vector's Privileges Required.

Check only, differential: the check fires on the vulnerable build and is silent on the patched one.
