ETK-2026-3457Zero's internal tracking ID, independent of the CVE number.
waiting for further signalsZero needs more public information before it can validate it.description
gopacket versions before 1.7.5 can retain decoder data across packets when applications reuse layers through DecodingLayerParser. An attacker able to send traffic observed by a long-running affected parser may increase process memory use and cause later packets to be reported with stale fields; fresh-layer decoding is not affected.
mitigation
Upgrade github.com/gopacket/gopacket to version 1.7.5 or later. Until upgraded, use gopacket.NewPacket or create new layer instances for each packet rather than reusing decoder layers.
fixed in 1.7.5
outcome
Contextual, not validated: no deterministic check could cover this one, and no technique passed our review.
