description

social-to-mealie exposes a command-injection risk in its URL-processing API when requests reach the gallery-dl fallback. An unauthenticated remote attacker able to access the service can execute commands as the container's application user, potentially exposing environment secrets and internal network access.

mitigation

Restrict access to the service port to trusted users and networks immediately, such as with firewall rules or authenticated reverse-proxy access. Update the gallery-dl invocation to use direct process arguments rather than a shell command, and validate URLs to allow only HTTP or HTTPS schemes.
