description

Uptime Kuma versions before 2.5.8 allow an authenticated user to make an Apprise notification value be treated as command-line options. This can enable server-side requests; if the attacker also has a suitable file-write capability, it can lead to code execution under the Uptime Kuma process account.

mitigation

Upgrade uptime-kuma to version 2.5.8 or later. Restrict access to authenticated Uptime Kuma accounts until the upgrade is complete.

fixed in 2.5.8

automationDeterministic: a check that runs on its own, the same request on every target. Contextual: an agentic technique that needs to be applied per target, for bugs that depend on contextual flows.
deterministic
auth requiredWhether an attacker needs an account first, based on the CVSS vector's Privileges Required.
yes, high privileges
