description

Rust's zip crate before 9.0.5 can mishandle ZIP64 archive metadata with mixed size sentinel states. An attacker able to supply a qualifying archive may cause archive parsing to fail, potentially interrupting archive-ingestion or processing workflows.

mitigation

Upgrade the Rust zip crate to version 9.0.5 or later. Until upgrades are complete, restrict processing of untrusted large or multi-volume ZIP archives and handle archive parsing failures without halting the surrounding service.

fixed in 9.0.5
