description

Rust applications using the zip package may consume excessive CPU and memory while opening a malicious ZIP archive. An attacker must be able to provide an archive that the application will parse.

mitigation

Upgrade the Rust zip package to version 9.0.4 or later. Until upgraded, avoid processing ZIP files from untrusted sources.

fixed in 9.0.4
