description

OpenEXR is affected when processing specially formed EXR files with y-subsampled channels and B44/B44A or DWAA/DWAB compression. An attacker able to provide such a file may crash an application during DWAA/DWAB decoding or trigger an out-of-bounds write when an application rewrites B44/B44A content; processing untrusted EXR files is required.

mitigation

Upgrade OpenEXR to 3.4.17, 3.5.3 or later.

fixed in 3.4.17, 3.5.3

automationDeterministic: a check that runs on its own, the same request on every target. Contextual: an agentic technique that needs to be applied per target, for bugs that depend on contextual flows.

auth requiredWhether an attacker needs an account first, based on the CVSS vector's Privileges Required.
