ETK-2026-2957Zero's internal tracking ID, independent of the CVE number.
validatedZero produced an exploit or a check.description
zstd-jni multi-dictionary decompression can retain a native reference to a dictionary after it is closed. An attacker able to influence this dictionary lifecycle may trigger native memory corruption and terminate the JVM. The issue requires multi-dictionary mode and a previously registered dictionary to be closed while still referenced.
mitigation
Upgrade com.github.luben:zstd-jni to version 1.5.7-25 or later. Until upgraded, do not enable multi-dictionary decompression or close dictionaries that may remain registered with a decompression context.
fixed in 1.5.7-25
outcome
Contextual check: a technique exists and was validated, but no deterministic check could cover this one.
