description

Appsmith server through 2.3 is affected on self-hosted installations configured for in-memory Git storage. An authenticated user may cause Appsmith to authenticate to a configured external Git remote with another workspace's deploy key without authorization to that workspace. Default self-hosted Docker Compose deployments are not affected.

mitigation

Upgrade Appsmith server to version 2.4 or later. Review authentication logs on connected Git remotes for unexpected use of Appsmith deploy keys.

fixed in 2.4

Contextual, not validated: no deterministic check could cover this one, and no technique passed our review.
