description

Tailscale SSH deployments may be exposed to a privilege-escalation path when tailnet ACLs broadly permit access from authorized devices to servers. An attacker who has compromised an authorized device may be able to use that access to gain elevated privileges on an allowed server.

mitigation

Restrict tailnet ACLs to the smallest necessary source devices, destinations, and SSH access paths, especially for privileged servers. Apply Tailscale updates containing the vendor's fix when they are available; the evidence does not identify a fixed version.

outcome

Contextual, not validated: no deterministic check could cover this one, and no technique passed our review.
