description

SurrealDB versions 3.2.0 through before 3.3.0 are affected when MCP HTTP uses JWT or Bearer access methods. An authenticated user who obtains another user's MCP session ID may invoke MCP tools with the other user's permissions because the per-request subject check does not distinguish users of the same access method.

mitigation

Upgrade the Rust surrealdb package to version 3.3.0 or later. Until upgraded, restrict access to the MCP HTTP endpoint and protect MCP session IDs from disclosure.

fixed in 3.3.0
