ETK-2026-2486Zero's internal tracking ID, independent of the CVE number.
waiting for further signalsZero needs more public information before it can validate it.description
Parse Server email-address validation can consume excessive event-loop time when processing unusually long crafted input. An attacker who can access sign-up, or an authenticated user changing their email address, can disrupt service for clients handled by the affected server process.
mitigation
Upgrade npm parse-server to 8.6.115 or 9.10.7-alpha.1. Until upgraded, reject email addresses longer than 254 characters before user saves and restrict user creation where feasible.
fixed in 9.10.7-alpha.1, 8.6.115
outcome
Contextual: an exploit technique exists, but no deterministic check could cover this one.
