description

ToolHive embedded authorization server versions 0.9.1 through 0.51.4 do not require user approval for dynamically registered OAuth clients. An attacker can obtain tokens associated with a victim after the victim follows an authorization link and authenticates through a configured upstream identity provider.

mitigation

Upgrade github.com/stacklok/toolhive to version 0.52.0 or later. Until then, block registration requests at the ingress or reverse proxy when all clients are pre-registered; account separately for CIMD clients if enabled.

fixed in 0.52.0
