ETK-2026-1174Zero's internal tracking ID, independent of the CVE number.
validatedZero produced an exploit or a check.description
ImageMagick is affected when processing a crafted image that uses bzip2 compression. An attacker may trigger a stack buffer overwrite if they can cause a vulnerable installation to process such an image.
mitigation
Upgrade ImageMagick to 7.1.2-33 or later, or 6.9.13-58 or later. Until upgraded, restrict processing of untrusted images, particularly inputs using bzip2 compression.
fixed in 7.1.2-33, 6.9.13-58
outcome
Mechanism verified: the exploit fired on the vulnerable build and stayed silent on the patched one, but the server it ran against was ours, so no check ships for it.
source signals
Public signals that triggered or updated the pipeline. These are inputs for the deltas above.
