description

Linux kernel systems using the ksmbd SMB server can return residual data in an FS_OBJECT_ID_INFORMATION response. A remote SMB client may obtain bytes from an earlier response when it sends a compound request whose preceding command writes a response and then fails.

mitigation

Update to a vendor-provided Linux kernel that includes 898cb4f2e12a5ddea1b2d821cc642c3100f46da7, 015fffa48e96ca8d73a627445341ccff86b02251, or 399aa12450a61a5c73dc77e73f069ece9687c95d. Disable ksmbd where it is not required until the updated kernel can be deployed.
