CVE-2026-98846
validatedZero produced an exploit or a check.GHSA-gghw-9hqp-85hc ↗EUVD-2026-103786 ↗
description
Linux kernels lacking the SCTP fix can mishandle association lifetime during a send operation. An SCTP peer may help trigger a race that leads to unsafe kernel memory access when SCTP is enabled and concurrent socket shutdown and send activity occur.
mitigation
Update to a kernel build that includes the applicable upstream fix: e8f972b1759d26bbefe4c524caae1ed7c8a593bd, e701345d886e831fb593a0870d69c8c5de6fc938, 222c41e0f50f1d5028be9baf0e1dcfc0bfa7f669, or 4f1da630d13de0370e2f6361f961f1c8b384af1c. Until updated, disable SCTP where it is not required.
fixed in e8f972b1759d26bbefe4c524caae1ed7c8a593bd, e701345d886e831fb593a0870d69c8c5de6fc938, 222c41e0f50f1d5028be9baf0e1dcfc0bfa7f669, 4f1da630d13de0370e2f6361f961f1c8b384af1c
outcome
Contextual check: a technique exists and was validated, but no deterministic check could cover this one.
