description

Next.js deployments using Image Optimization on glibc-based Linux may be affected when they process attacker-supplied SVG images. An unauthenticated attacker may be able to cause a denial of service or potentially run code through the image-processing path.

mitigation

Upgrade Next.js to 15.5.28 or 16.4.1. Ensure the Sharp dependency resolved for Next.js is version 0.35.5 or later.

fixed in 15.5.28, 16.4.1

outcome

Contextual check: a technique exists and was validated, but no deterministic check could cover this one.
