CVE-2026-96760
validatedZero produced an exploit or a check.GHSA-6m87-8wg6-hh8w ↗EUVD-2026-88465 ↗
description
Authlib versions before 1.9.0 can accept a JSON JWS object without a signature as successfully verified when processed by JsonWebSignature.deserialize_json(). An unauthenticated attacker may bypass authentication or authorization where an application passes untrusted JWS JSON to this method and trusts the returned payload's claims.
mitigation
Upgrade the authlib package to version 1.9.0. Until upgrading, do not pass untrusted JSON JWS input to JsonWebSignature.deserialize_json() or rely on its returned payload for security decisions.
fixed in 1.9.0
outcome
Contextual check: a technique exists and was validated, but no deterministic check could cover this one.
source signals
