description

The WordPress User Registration plugin is affected through version 5.2.8 when processing checkbox field values. An unauthenticated remote party may cause script content to be stored and later run in a visitor's browser when they view affected content; the exposed public registration submission path is the relevant precondition.

mitigation

Update the plugin to a vendor-confirmed release newer than 5.2.8. Until an update is deployed, disable public registration through the plugin or block its unauthenticated form-submission endpoint, recognizing that this may interrupt registrations.
