CVE-2026-95616
waiting for further signalsZero needs more public information before it can validate it.GHSA-9gjf-54jg-6353 ↗EUVD-2026-89801 ↗
description
Apache WSS4J versions before 4.0.2, 3.0.6, and 2.4.4 are affected by an integer overflow in DER bounds checking. An unauthenticated remote attacker can send a SOAP message with a crafted X.509 certificate extension to trigger excessive memory allocation and exhaust server memory. The vulnerable processing occurs before message authentication.
mitigation
Upgrade org.apache.wss4j:wss4j-ws-security-common to 4.0.2, 3.0.6, or 2.4.4, as appropriate for the deployed release line. Restrict untrusted SOAP traffic until the update is applied.
fixed in 4.0.2, 3.0.6, 2.4.4
outcome
Contextual: an exploit technique exists, but no deterministic check could cover this one.
