description

Affected ISC BIND 9 releases include the listed 9.11, 9.18, 9.20, 9.21, and S1 branch ranges. An attacker who has observed a GSS-TSIG UDP message before its key expires, and can query an attacker-controlled zone, may corrupt named memory and potentially run code.

mitigation

Disable GSS-TSIG on affected named instances where it is not required, and restrict DNS access and zone operations to trusted peers. No corrected version is recorded; monitor ISC BIND updates and upgrade when a fixed release is identified.
