description

SMS Alert versions before 4.0.1 are affected by an account-binding flaw in OTP password resets. With OTP password-reset support enabled, an unauthenticated attacker who can validate a code for a phone number they control may reset the password for another account, including an administrator account.

mitigation

Update SMS Alert to version 4.0.1 or later. Until updated, disable OTP-based password resets to reduce exposure.

fixed in 4.0.1
