description

Pgpool-II contains a stack-based buffer overflow that can be triggered by an unauthenticated remote party. An exposed instance that accepts attacker-controlled network input may terminate unexpectedly, causing denial of service.

mitigation

Upgrade Pgpool-II to 4.7.3, 4.6.8, 4.5.13, 4.4.18, or 4.3.21, as appropriate for your release branch. Until upgraded, restrict network access to Pgpool-II to trusted hosts.
