description

Apache Thrift releases before 0.25.0 have a heap memory-safety flaw in the C++ THeaderTransport ZLIB frame-processing path. A remote peer may trigger out-of-bounds memory access when an application enables this transformation and handles peer-supplied frame content.

mitigation

Upgrade the thrift package to version 0.25.0. Until upgrading, disable ZLIB transformation for THeaderTransport where operationally possible.

fixed in 0.25.0
