description

Affected Fleet releases authorize downstream Secret and ConfigMap copies with the agent identity rather than the deployment ServiceAccount. A tenant permitted to create Fleet deployment resources can create target namespaces or replace named Secrets and ConfigMaps outside their intended downstream permissions, particularly where tenants share clusters.

mitigation

Upgrade Fleet to v0.16.2, v0.15.7, or v0.14.11, as appropriate. Pin least-privilege ServiceAccounts to deployments and enforce their use; until upgraded, restrict who can create or modify Bundle, GitRepo, and HelmOp resources, and disable EXPERIMENTAL_COPY_RESOURCES_DOWNSTREAM on Rancher 2.13 and 2.14.

fixed in v0.16.2, v0.15.7, v0.14.11
