CVE-2026-85185
waiting for further signalsZero needs more public information before it can validate it.GHSA-27q7-qwhm-c34p ↗EUVD-2026-88258 ↗
description
LXD btrfs storage handling does not adequately confine subvolume paths supplied during optimized backup restoration or migration receipt. A project user permitted to create instances can cause root-privileged deletion outside the storage pool, and hosts with a btrfs root filesystem may also be exposed to attacker-controlled file placement.
mitigation
Upgrade github.com/canonical/lxd to 4.0.14, 5.0.10, 5.21.8, 6.9-bf243da, 6.10 or later.
fixed in 4.0.14, 5.0.10, 5.21.8, 6.9-bf243da, 6.10
outcome
Contextual, not validated: no deterministic check could cover this one, and no technique passed our review.
