CVE-2026-83540
waiting for further signalsZero needs more public information before it can validate it.GHSA-36jf-xmwg-5wp8 ↗EUVD-2026-94163 ↗
description
Windows wolfSSHd versions 1.4.15 through 1.5.0 can retain authentication-token state across connections when password or public-key login is enabled. An attacker who already has a valid low-privilege account may cause a later login to receive a more privileged Windows identity. Non-Windows wolfSSHd deployments are not affected.
mitigation
Move the service to a non-Windows wolfSSHd deployment, or disable the affected Windows daemon where feasible. Until a vendor-fixed release is identified, restrict access to trusted authenticated users and limit accounts with higher Windows privileges.
outcome
Contextual: an exploit technique exists, but no deterministic check could cover this one.
