description

Cerberus FTP Server installations not updated to version 2026.3.0 may accept attacker-controlled UNC paths through a manipulated parameter. An authenticated remote user can cause the server to authenticate to an external SMB location, potentially disclosing the Cerberus service account's Net-NTLMv2 hash.

mitigation

Upgrade Cerberus FTP Server to version 2026.3.0. Until upgrading, limit access for authenticated users and run the Cerberus service with the least privileges practical.

fixed in 2026.3.0
