description

Apache bRPC versions before 1.18.0 do not adequately limit resources consumed while processing HTTP/2 traffic. An unauthenticated remote peer can exhaust memory or crash a server; affected clients may also be impacted when they connect to untrusted HTTP/2 or gRPC backends. Exposure requires accepting HTTP/2, h2, or gRPC traffic from an untrusted peer.

mitigation

Upgrade Apache bRPC to version 1.18.0 or later. If an immediate upgrade is not possible, apply the vendor's referenced fix and restrict HTTP/2, h2, and gRPC connectivity to trusted peers.

fixed in 1.18.0
