description

Redash 26.0.0 through 26.8.x permits the DuckDB query runner to access files available to the Redash process. An attacker with query access to an administrator-created DuckDB data source may read sensitive files or write files with that process's permissions; exposed application secrets could also permit session forgery.

mitigation

Upgrade Redash to version 26.9.0 or later. Until upgraded, restrict query access to administrator-created DuckDB data sources and limit the Redash process account's filesystem permissions.

fixed in 26.9.0
