description

Libreswan IKEv2 handling contains a null-pointer dereference in an EAP-related authentication path. An unauthenticated peer able to reach IKEv2 can cause the pluto daemon to crash and restart, creating a denial-of-service condition, including where EAP is not configured.

mitigation

Restrict inbound IKEv2 access to trusted peers and networks until an upstream-fixed release can be deployed. Monitor pluto restarts and apply the vendor update after confirming the fixed version.
