description

Cisco NX-OS devices with the NGOAM VXLAN OAM feature enabled are affected by improper validation of IP traffic. An unauthenticated remote attacker able to reach an IP interface may execute code with root privileges or trigger crashes that reload the device.

mitigation

Disable NGOAM where it is not required. Restrict network access to affected device IP interfaces to trusted sources until a vendor update can be applied.

outcome

Contextual check: a technique exists and was validated, but no deterministic check could cover this one.
