description

Cisco VCS Expressway devices that expose the database service are affected. An attacker with network access and a persistent cookie may execute operating-system commands as root when clustered systems use TLS Verify Mode Enabled and client certificates are not properly validated.

mitigation

Restrict database-service access to trusted cluster peers and block untrusted networks from reaching it. Treat persistent cookies as secrets, invalidate or rotate them using supported procedures, and apply Cisco updates when a fixed release is published.
