description
Splunk Enterprise releases earlier than 10.4.4, 10.2.8, or 10.0.11 are affected in the Pipeline Builders Edge Processor package-download feature. An unauthenticated remote party may drive excessive Splunk daemon resource use and disrupt service when the package-download endpoint is reachable without authentication.
mitigation
Upgrade Splunk Enterprise to 10.4.4, 10.2.8, or 10.0.11, as appropriate for the deployed release branch. Prepare existing Edge Processor instances, enable authentication for package downloads, and restart Splunk Enterprise.
fixed in 10.4.4, 10.2.8, 10.0.11
outcome
