description

Splunk Enterprise search head cluster members running affected releases expose a Patroni REST API that lacks authentication for sensitive configuration actions. An unauthenticated network attacker could run operating-system commands when they can reach that interface. Splunk Enterprise 10.0.x and 9.4.x are not affected.

mitigation

Upgrade Splunk Enterprise to 10.4.3 or 10.2.7, as applicable. Restrict network access to the Patroni REST API on search head cluster members until the upgrade is complete.

fixed in 10.4.3, 10.2.7
