description

Kirki for WordPress through version 6.2.5 lacks an authorization check on an AJAX path that processes untrusted serialized input. An attacker with a Subscriber-level or higher account may inject PHP objects and, where a usable object chain is present, take over an administrator account.

mitigation

Disable Kirki until a vendor-fixed release is identified, or prevent untrusted users from obtaining Subscriber-level accounts. Review WordPress users and administrator credentials for signs of unauthorized changes.
