description

ModSecurity versions 3.0.0 through 3.0.16 can skip response-body inspection when a response media type uses casing that differs from configured values. An unauthenticated requester may receive content that phase-4 response rules would otherwise block, if response inspection relies on affected MIME-type matching.

mitigation

Upgrade ModSecurity to version 3.0.17. Prioritize systems that inspect response bodies for sensitive error or diagnostic content.

fixed in 3.0.17
